Terms of Participation and Use
Last updated: 2 November 2026
These terms apply to Swimroad Adventure's swimming lessons and Kapidag open water experiences. Prices and payment details are confirmed in writing before you book. If the two versions differ, the Turkish text prevails.
1. Swimming lessons
- Lessons are by appointment. Cancellations or changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance; later notice may be charged as a lesson.
- The pool's own rules (caps, showering, hygiene) apply to everyone.
- Participants under 18 need consent from a parent or guardian.
2. Open water experiences
- An approved, active individual athlete licence is required to take part in open water experiences.
- Participants confirm they can swim the experience distance in a pool without stopping. Swimroad may carry out a level check and may decline a participant they consider not ready.
- A safety buoy and the bright swim cap provided are compulsory.
- A health declaration and a participation form are signed before the experience.
- Participants must follow the instructions of guides and the boat crew; anyone putting safety at risk may be taken out of the water.
- If weather, wind, waves or water temperature are not safe, the experience is postponed, shortened or moved to a back-up route. If Swimroad cancels or postpones, a new date is offered; participants who can't make the new date get their payment back.
- Terms for participants who choose to withdraw are confirmed in writing when you book.
3. Health declaration and medical reports
Every participant tells us, accurately and in full, about any health condition that could affect swimming before a lesson or experience, and lets us know if anything changes. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian makes this declaration.
Where safety requires it, Swimroad may ask for a doctor's approval or medical report before you take part. This applies in particular to:
- Heart and circulatory conditions, asthma or other breathing problems, epilepsy or a history of seizures, diabetes
- Pregnancy
- Recent surgery, serious illness or injury
- Possibly contagious skin, eye or ear infections, and open wounds
- Medication that can affect attention, balance or consciousness
- Open water experiences and intensive performance or exam preparation programmes
- A declaration that doesn't match what is observed during a lesson or experience
Depending on the situation, the document may be a doctor's approval, an athlete health report or a health status certificate. For licensed athletes, a valid document under Türkiye's Athlete Health Reports Regulation (Official Gazette, 11 August 2026, No. 33337) is required.
Taking part may be postponed until the document is provided. Swimroad's instructors don't make medical assessments; the decision is only about whether taking part is safe. If your doctor advises against swimming, you won't take part, and the written terms under section 2 apply to your payment.
Your health information is special category personal data. It is processed only with your explicit consent, for safety, and kept for the periods in our Privacy Policy. You don't have to send documents over WhatsApp; you can show them in person before the lesson or experience.
4. Responsibility
Swimming, and open water swimming in particular, carries inherent risk. Participants are responsible for the accuracy of their declarations and for following safety instructions. Swimroad cannot be held responsible for consequences arising from an incomplete or false health declaration. These terms don't remove any liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law, or the participant's legal rights.
5. Photos and video
Photos and video taken during lessons and experiences are used for promotion only with your explicit consent. Declining doesn't affect your participation. For participants under 18, a parent or guardian gives this consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
